If you compared Sun Country Airlines to other similar carriers, you would see distinctive qualities that would set it apart. They seemed to specialize in flying vacationers to many popular locations in Mexico, Caribbean, and the southern US. They built their business on vacation air travel to popular, warm locales. In December, 2010, Sun Country Airlines informed the public they were chosen to provide services from Lansing Michigan to Washington National Airport near Washington DC. The USDOT, Dept of Transportation made the final decision and awarded Sun Country Airlines with the new route. As you may imagine, the flight will start from Minneapolis, and then proceed to Lansing and then eastward.

There is a brief stop for passengers traveling to Washington DC from Lansing. This has yet to occur only because it is all still so new. In addition, this new stop at Lansing will be included in daily flights to Washington DC.

The story of Sun Country Airlines is a lot like any story of the American dream of building something good. The roots of Sun Country came from former employees of Braniff Airlines. The tale of Sun Country Airlines is full of drama, success, hard times, and hope. You cannot dismiss the many awards and mentions they have received, both nationally and internationally.
